Music Branding

Art Club, a Glasgow-based music group, sought a visually striking identity that would complement their unique blend of jazz, Afrobeat, electronica, and soul. Their aim was to create a "crashing sound" with their new "Crystal Children EP," and they needed branding that would make a bold statement and stand out amidst the crowded music scene.

To achieve this, I focused on developing a logo and branding package that was both visually arresting and reflective of the band's eclectic musical style. I sought to create a design that would be instantly recognisable in a record shop and evoke the energy and vibrancy of their music.

I selected a vibrant colour palette that would complement the band's diverse musical influences. The colours should be bold and eye-catching, ensuring the branding is different from the rest.

As it featured in the EP’s name, the crystal symbolism plays a huge role within this brand and I wanted to make it a focal point across all visuals. It was a fun and interesting concept to play around with the type on the front cover of the record and the song listings on the reverse side.

The Art Club branding project was a rewarding experience that allowed me to explore the intersection of music and design. The final result is a different and memorable identity that perfectly complements the band's unique sound.
